They Come Then, The Birds. Two Exhibitions in a Day - Dublin
Amanda Coogan does not want Art to tell us how to think, but simply allow us to consider things.
This week I continued on my quest to visit more exhibitions in the flesh with a trip to Dublin on Friday. Fidel came with me as we had tickets for the Pluid (pronounced plidge) exhibition; over 1200 gorgeous pieces submitted by artists all across Ireland including ourselves.
The majority of the pieces are available to bid on with proceeds going to Pieta House. The auction is online and runs until 19th September 2021, you can access it here. Bidding starts at €55.
Over 1200 pieces on display at the Pluid Exhibition, 27th Aug - 5th September, Farmleigh, Dublin. Most of the 6”x6” squares are now available to purchase through an online auction with proceeds going to Pieta House. See link above.

They Come Then, The Birds is part of The Magdalena Series curated by Maolíosa Boyle and features five of Ireland’s leading artists: Amanda Coogan, Alice Maher, Rachel Fallon, Jesse Jones and Grace Days. Rua Red commissioned the five artists to research and produce new work in response to Mary Magdalene.
‘The Magdalene is the earthy, carnal and sensual counterpart of the celestial Virgin.’

My new work and upcoming exhibition in October, Looking for Light, asks us to reflect on and consider that dichotomy.
