Louth Arts Office EDI Bursary - The Waterfall

Along with my stand alone page on my website about the Louth Arts Office EDI Bursary Award I received in November 2024 and social media videos, I wanted to also, for posterity, put together some blog posts.
Before I got the award, I had only ever been in the Monochrome Meath darkroom for a demonstration. I certainly had never developed my own film or prints. So everything film related you see me do is all thanks to support from Louth County Council Arts Office and the new darkroom facilities at CreativeSpark (which is currently open for new membership applications). This work is ongoing with an eye to more sustainable practices which I’ll continue to explore.
The Waterfall
Waterfall at Dún a Rí shot with a medium format camera called a Zeiss Ikon which is nearly 100 years old (thanks Tom). I developed the film and scanned the negatives using the super, duper negative scanner at Creative Spark. The following week I made prints from the negatives in the darkroom.
120mm film I developed, drying in the cabinet.
Waterfall darkroom prints drying on the rack. All with varying development times and filtration.
